Sevco Scoreboard A Massive Turn Off!

Tonight on a trip back from work, I had the misfortune to listen to the first twenty minutes of Clyde Superscoreboard and within that time there was a great reminder as to why any Celtic fan who values their health should refrain from tuning in. Seriously this show is not good for your blood pressure as evidenced by my reaction to their very first caller tonight who went by the name of Ronnie. Yes Ronnie was indeed a Rangers/Sevco fan and he had some very interesting ideas on which team were favourites for Sunday's League Cup Semi-Final. As is the usual with that mob's fans, his opinion was in no way based on team form, player ability, common sense or indeed logic. Ronnie tipped Sevco to win and cited the pendulum swinging towards Ibrox as a sign that things were different from last month's 5-1 mauling. What did he base his opinion on?.... Celtic's Champions League form. Apparently Celtic lost to a Barcelona team who aren't firing all cylinders and lost the lead 3 times to a poor Manchester City. Oh and we lost to Borussia Monchengladbach as well. Of course in sevcoland that translates as am imminent victory for Rangers.

Ronnie's point is unclear, especially when you factor in the obvious point that his phoenix side cobbled together from free transfers won't play anything like the Germans. Additionally Barcelona are a such a phenomenal side who boast a forward line of Messi, Saurez and Neymar. Perhaps Ronnie will get in touch to tell me that such footballing nobodies pale in comparison to the mercurial trio of McKay, Miller and Forrester. No? Well why not considering his point about Josh Windass: Young JW is a result of a raid by Warburton on the lower leagues of England and this guy has been built up to be the next Kaka They truly are the most deluded shower in the footballing world aren't they? Course they are... just ask David Murray, Craig Whyte, Charles Green and  Dave King. Ronnie's points were so off the wall and barmy that Derek Johnstone was cringing at his every word. At one point he claimed that Brendan Rodgers is under more pressure than Mark Warburton. Clearly the last thing a man that delusional needs is judgement. We must put rivalries aside and hope Ronnie gets the help he needs. Some things are more important than football.

Mad sevconian phone calls aside, this show is so far past it's sell by date you can smell the stench from here to the Highlands. Dinosaur pundits like Hugh Keevins spout predictable nonsense designed to be controversial and provoke a reaction from the common fan. Unfortunately there are very few common fans still listening to this trash. Keevins and his clan long since gave up on intelligent football debate and are now actively targeting the lowest common denominator in order to keep the freak show on the road. Imagine a good Superscoreboard with pundits consisting of real football men and not ex Rangers players and two bit copywriters masquerading as journalists. Will it happen? Not a chance as long as the barmy army continue phoning in. Celtic fans listening and calling into the show need to take a long hard look at themselves. It's no friend of Celtic and it's certainly no friend of real fans. Just Turn Off.

Do you agree with the article? Is Superscoreboard past it's best? Did you hear Ronnie the Rocket's rantings? Let us know in the comments below
