Sevco Big Mouth All The Motivation We Need

Ah their at it again bless em.... Not content with their pre-season rantings about winning leagues and getting back to where they belong, our dear friends over at Ibrox are making some more seriously ill-judged statements in regards to the upcoming League Cup semi-final against us. Who is this latest misguided soul? A certain Harry Forrester of Doncaster Rovers fame that's who! Harry was in the Evening Times (I know I know) today giving his opinion on the match and he stated it will be a game the players will relish. Guess that's if you manage to get a start son eh?

Honestly how much more sick of these football nobodies can you get? Harry Forrester was bad enough but in the past few months we have had Mark Warburton and various Newco players lining up to talk complete and utter nonsense about the game up here from Kenny Miller to Josh Windass! Seriously read that last name back to yourself and try to do it with a straight face. Josh is a former Accrington Stanley player who told us in no uncertain terms he was coming up here to win titles from the English League 2. That this Windass character actually believed his own words is bad enough but the fact Mark Warburton signed the likes of him, James Tavernier, Harry Forrester and Matt Crooks for the job is bordering on absolute delusion. No players from that level of football are coming up here to challenge for the title! If you transported any one of the teams from that level into our Premiership none of them would go the distance with a team of internationals like ours. You know what? I'm not even sure they would finish in the top five and that is where I expect this newco Rangers side to finish. They are simply not good enough!

In all fairness the general attitude towards Scottish Football down there is completely skewed. Listening to their pundits going on would make you believe they are the footballing masters of the world. Their not! In fact given their population, money and resources, their teams are vastly UNDERACHIEVING! Don't let the facts get in the way of a good boast though eh. We need to stop comparing ourselves to the English as it's the biggest mismatch in history and the fight would never go ahead. Obviously in any other country with a semi-competent media, statements from the likes of Windass and Forrester would be scrutinized and revealed as the laughable rantings they are. We're in Scotland though so any hope of that is akin to hoping that other mob will stop singing their vile songs... In other words none.

Speaking of the media, they have to take a long hard look at themselves because they've talked Warburton and his team of English lower league players up so much that one could be forgiven we were hearing of a side playing like Barcelona. Newco fans reading about magic hats and potential superstars were brought back to Earth with a bump when they realised none of it was remotely true. Newsflash Bears!! Ronny Deila is gone and he ain't coming back! By default neither is our laboured style of play you saw in last season's Scottish Cup match when you scraped through on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Oh and spare me the nonsense spouted that you hammered us please! Seriously what is that? How can a 2-2 draw and win on penalties be described as a hammering?

For our Bhoys the job they have to do is simple: Knock the other mob out and ensure we reach the final of this tournament to ensure we give ourselves the maximum chance to get the first trophy of the season in the cabinet. Put these Newco players ravings up in the dressing wall and let our players see them because if we turn up and play the best we can then you can bet your bottom dollar that Newco will be getting blown away. Whether Harry Forrester and his big mouth start or not!
